PRADA’S DISCORD TO MILAN TRIP Milan Fashion Week might be the most accessible to all people yet.
Following the announcement that Diesel has announced that it would open the show in September for the general public to attend via the online registration process, Prada said Monday that the third Timecapsule NFT product scheduled to launch on Thursday will let some customers attend the show of the luxury brand for the first time in 2023’s spring season. The event is scheduled for September. 22, at 2 p.m. CET.

It was introduced in 2019. Timecapsule is an exclusive monthly drop of a ready-to-wear product sold exclusively through the company’s online site, which is open the entire day. Each item is issued the serial number and will be shipped in custom-designed packaging.

Since the drop in June, this project entered Web3 by adding an NFT-gifted element to every purchase. Purchasers who have purchased the last drops, going from the first launch in December, will also receive NFTs.

The August drop is a limited-edition run of 50 black cotton poplin shirts matching different archival prints spanning from the Jeanne Detallante-designed, Frankenstein-inspired print from fall 2019 to a floral brocade pattern enriched with Lurex threads, as well as vintage fabrics from the 1920s and ’50s. The brand said the initiative is a testament to its belief in circularity by using materials that are no longer in use.

Every customer who purchases the shirt will receive a free NFT and will automatically be shortlisted for the chance to fly to Milan and attend the 2023 spring show created in collaboration with the co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons.

More details on the offer will be made available shortly via “Prada Crypted,” the brand’s social-minded community on the Discord social network.

Following its first venture into NFTs with Adidas in the spring of this year, Prada furthered its commitment to Web3 by launching its first individual NFT initiative in June that focused on the collaborative effort with musician and artist Cassius Hirst. The pair collaborated with Prada for The Cass Cassius Hirst x Prada collection, which reinterpreted the American Cup sneakers. The second NFT drop was added to the Timecapsule shirt of July.

Prada Timecapsule NFTs utilize the technology of the Aura Blockchain Consortium. This collaboration was established last year after LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis-Vuitton Prada Group and Compagnie Financiere Richemont joined forces to advocate the use of a single blockchain platform available to the entire luxury brand around the world. The initiative is later was joined by OTB Group and by Mercedes-Ben
